Hotel California / Pretty Maids All in a Row

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Anchored by an iconic 12-string acoustic introduction and concluding with an extended, harmonized guitar duel between Don Felder and Joe Walsh. The deeply cryptic, surreal lyrics dissect the decadence, excess, and inevitable spiritual disillusionment of the 1970s Los Angeles music industry. Despite the band's initial apprehension regarding its six-minute length, it became one of the best-selling and most frequently covered rock songs of the 20th century.
