Between Friends

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released as part of the 2012 Adult Swim single series, the track features guest verses from Earl Sweatshirt and Ellison's own Captain Murphy persona. The production utilizes dusty soul loops and sparse melodic fragments to facilitate a dense narrative on urban isolation and internal psychological pressure. It functions as a stylistic summary of his transition toward increasingly literate and structurally varied narratives within the LA underground.
