Album Notes & Community Reviews
An incredibly dramatic, tension-filled production characterized by Levi Stubbs' urgent, almost desperately shouted lead vocal. The galloping rhythm, galloping congas, and slightly Eastern-sounding flute melody created a massively influential soundscape that pushed the boundaries of the traditional Motown formula.
