Album Notes & Community Reviews

Standing as one of the most enduring compositions in the country music canon, this iconic release blends rural work themes with undeniable blues structuring. The incredibly rhythmic, propulsive acoustic guitar work provides a driving foundation for the artist's signature, highly emotive yodel. The song would eventually become a crucial foundational text for the development of both honky-tonk and bluegrass.
