Biography
Jimmie Rodgers (1897–1933), the 'Father of Country Music', was a Mississippi railroad brakeman whose #Victor# recordings from 1927 fused blues, yodelling and jazz into the foundation of country music. Working with producer *Ralph Peer*, he cut some 110 sides in six short years, and his 'Blue Yodel' hits made him America's first country superstar before tuberculosis ended his life at 35.
