Album Notes & Community Reviews
Representing a monumental cross-pollination of early American vernacular styles, this session famously paired the 'Father of Country Music' with Louis Armstrong on trumpet. The seamless integration of rural white yodeling and authentic African-American jazz improvisation underscores the shared, deeply intertwined roots of both genres. The recording is an unprecedented, invaluable artifact of early integration in the recording studio.
