Album Notes & Community Reviews

Built around a shimmering, hypnotic glockenspiel loop and a steady electronic pulse, the song completely abandons traditional verse-chorus structures to convey a deeply personal narrative of loss. James Murphy's subdued, emotionally devastated vocal performance contrasts sharply with the track's pristine, upbeat synth-pop production. It is widely considered one of the most profoundly moving and beautifully constructed electronic songs of the decade.
