Angel

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Opening their landmark third album, the track is a slow-burning masterpiece of tension, built around a massively heavy, distorted bassline referencing an old John Holt song. Horace Andy's fragile, haunting vocal performance creates a stark contrast against the crushing, incredibly dark industrial production that erupts in the climax. It signaled a definitive shift for the group away from the lighter soul of their earlier work toward a more paranoid, abrasive sound.
