Album Notes & Community Reviews
Written by Noel Gallagher as a deliberate, optimistic counter-statement to the pessimism dominating American grunge music, 'Live Forever' became the foundational anthem of the Britpop movement. The track's soaring vocal melody and life-affirming lyrical sentiment perfectly captured the emerging mid-90s cultural shift in the UK. Its release formally announced the band as the preeminent force in British guitar music.
