Album Notes & Community Reviews
Serving as the undisputed global anthem of the Britpop era, 'Wonderwall' centers on Noel Gallagher's acoustic strumming and a synthesized cello backing track playing on a Mellotron. Liam Gallagher's sneering yet vulnerable vocal delivery perfectly balanced the song's earnest romanticism with rock swagger. The song catapulted 'What's the Story (Morning Glory)?' to historic sales figures, cementing the band's colossal mid-90s cultural dominance.
