Jeremy

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Inspired by a tragic, real-life news story regarding a high school student's classroom suicide, 'Jeremy' is a harrowing exploration of parental neglect and adolescent alienation. The arrangement hinges on a distinctive 12-string bass intro by Jeff Ament, building to a furious, emotionally exhausted climax delivered by Eddie Vedder. Its heavily rotated, controversial music video became a defining visual document of the grunge era's dark introspection.
