Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pushed heavily by producer Bob Ezrin to incorporate a disco-influenced drum beat to ensure radio viability, this anti-authoritarian anthem provided Pink Floyd with their only number-one single. The track prominently features a rebellious children's choir secretly recorded at the nearby Islington Green School, decrying abusive educational systems. Its massive commercial success brought the conceptual alienation of 'The Wall' into mainstream pop consciousness.
