Biography
Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London who became pioneers of psychedelic and progressive rock. Initially led by *Syd Barrett*, their debut 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn' established them in the London underground. After Barrett's departure, and with the arrival of *David Gilmour*, bassist *Roger Waters* became the primary lyricist, guiding the band through a series of monumental concept albums. Their work, including the record-breaking 'The Dark Side of the Moon', 'Wish You Were Here', and the rock opera 'The Wall', explored themes of alienation, conflict, and madness, combining philosophical lyrics with sonic experimentation and elaborate live shows that redefined the scale of rock performance.
