Album Notes & Community Reviews
Famed for its unconventional 7/4 time signature and gritty blues-rock swagger, 'Money' became Pink Floyd's first major commercial hit in the United States. The track is instantly recognizable by its rhythmic tape loop of ringing cash registers, tearing paper, and jingling coins, which Roger Waters painstakingly spliced together in the studio. David Gilmour contributes a blistering, extended guitar solo that briefly shifts the song into a standard 4/4 rhythm.
