Album Notes & Community Reviews

Utilizing a soaring guitar riff famously borrowed heavily from Laura Branigan's 'Gloria', the track is a fiercely energetic, danceable anthem of unrequited love and nostalgia. Jarvis Cocker's brilliantly observational lyrics recount a genuine childhood infatuation with a girl named Deborah, plotting a fictional rendezvous at the turn of the millennium. It stands as a pinnacle of Britpop storytelling, marrying melancholic reflection with a euphoric pop hook.
