Album Notes & Community Reviews

Famous for its rapid-fire, stream-of-consciousness lyrical delivery, this energetic track reflects Michael Stipe's anxieties regarding modern media overload and apocalyptic cultural shifts. Despite its daunting lyrical complexity, the song's infectious, uplifting chorus helped push R.E.M. closer to their eventual mainstream breakthrough.
