Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by Stuart Matthewman's sultry saxophone solo and Sade Adu's luxurious, restrained vocal performance, 'Smooth Operator' defined the elegant sound of 1980s sophisti-pop. The single achieved immense international crossover success, painting a vivid lyrical portrait of a jet-setting, emotionally detached con man.
