Uranus

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking the debut release from Steve Albini's highly influential minimalist rock trio, 'Uranus' establishes the band's strict adherence to analog recording techniques and harsh, metallic guitar tones. The 7-inch single immediately showcased their precise, rhythmically complex approach to post-hardcore, utilizing custom-built aluminum neck guitars and stark drum mic placement. It laid the unyielding structural foundation for the entire math rock genre.
