Album Notes & Community Reviews

Showcasing the haunting, highly idiosyncratic Bentonia style, the A-side features aggressive, wildly syncopated piano playing that heavily inspired Robert Johnson's '32-20 Blues.' The artist's incredibly high, eerie falsetto vocal delivery perfectly matches the violent, dark lyricism. The session produced some of the most uniquely terrifying and brilliant artifacts of the pre-war blues era.
