Alison

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The soaring, euphoric opener to their masterwork 'Souvlaki', 'Alison' encapsulates the hazy, drug-addled romance of the early-90s shoegaze era. Neil Halstead and Rachel Goswell's washed-out vocal harmonies float elegantly above an immersive wall of chorused, feedback-drenched guitars. Despite receiving a notoriously harsh reception from the UK music press upon release, it endured as one of the most beloved and definitive tracks of the genre.
