It's Okay to Cry

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Signaling a profoundly vulnerable era for the notoriously enigmatic producer, this ballad is built on soft, shimmering synthesizers and her own unpitched vocals. Accompanied by a music video that served as her public coming out as a transgender woman, the song strips away all irony to deliver a pure, uplifting message of emotional acceptance. It concludes with an awe-inspiring, thunderous synthesizer crescendo that shatters the preceding calm.
