Album Notes & Community Reviews
Showcasing Mark Hollis's incredibly emotive, nuanced vocal delivery, the track balances polished synthpop production with complex, fretless bass lines. Its atmospheric animal noise sound effects hinted at the band's later transition away from commercial pop toward sprawling, post-rock experimentation. The song achieved massive international success and was later famously covered by No Doubt in 2003.
