Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as a profoundly beautiful highlight from their final studio album, 'New Grass' completely abandons the group's early synthpop origins in favor of organic, jazz-inflected minimalism. Mark Hollis's incredibly delicate vocal performance floats over an intricate, gently repeating drum groove and softly cascading piano chords. The composition's meditative, intensely spiritual atmosphere heavily foreshadowed the foundational aesthetic of modern post-rock.
