Let It Happen

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Spanning nearly eight minutes, this sprawling epic signaled Kevin Parker's complete transition from guitar-driven rock into immaculately produced, dance-oriented synthesizer pop. The song features a famous mid-track breakdown that simulates a CD skipping, which brilliantly loops into a lush, orchestral disco groove complete with vocoded vocals. It is widely heralded as a masterclass in modern psychedelic production, dealing lyrically with the anxieties of surrendering control.
