Hey Jude / Revolution

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Penned by Paul McCartney as an ode of comfort to Julian Lennon during his parents' divorce, 'Hey Jude' shattered radio conventions with its epic seven-minute runtime. Evolving from an intimate piano ballad into an explosive, mantra-like orchestral singalong, it became one of the band's most commercially successful singles. The abrasive, politically charged B-side 'Revolution' offered a stark stylistic counterpoint to the A-side's universal optimism.
