Pink Frost / Purple Girl

Album Notes & Community Reviews

A haunting, foundational pillar of New Zealand's influential Dunedin Sound. 'Pink Frost' is draped in funereal reverb and Martin Phillipps' delay-heavy, shivering guitar lines. The song's grim atmosphere of death and helplessness gained a tragic real-world weight when the band's drummer, Martyn Bull, passed away shortly after the recording sessions; the single was subsequently dedicated to his memory.
