Album Notes & Community Reviews

An urgent, apocalyptic broadcast announcing The Clash's evolution from a straightforward punk act into worldly rock visionaries. Joe Strummer's lyrics confront the Three Mile Island nuclear incident, police brutality, and the impending death of punk rock itself. The track's militaristic rhythm and Paul Simonon's heavy, staccato bassline perfectly underscore the song's intense sense of impending doom.
