Album Notes & Community Reviews

The quintessential fusion of 1960s Brill Building pop sensibilities and abrasive, post-punk aggression. Opening with an iconic drum beat directly sampled and slowed down from The Ronettes' 'Be My Baby', the Reid brothers bury a gorgeous, yearning pop melody under suffocating layers of distorted guitar feedback and reverb. This foundational noise-pop anthem later experienced a cultural resurgence as the closing track to Sofia Coppola's 'Lost in Translation'.
