Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by Lee Mavers' shimmering, flawless guitar riff, this incredibly infectious track became one of the most beloved guitar-pop singles of the late 1980s. Mavers' obsessive studio perfectionism caused the song to be recorded multiple times with different producers, leading to significant delays in the band's career. The lyrics have been heavily analyzed and debated, with persistent rumors suggesting the song is a metaphorical ode to heroin addiction.
