Mistaken for Strangers

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Driven by a tense, relentlessly propulsive drum beat directly inspired by Joy Division, the track perfectly captures the suffocating, anxious realities of corporate life and urban alienation. Matt Berninger's profound, world-weary baritone delivers sharp, conversational lyrical observations about losing touch with past ambition. It served as a vital, energetic centerpiece to the critically revered 'Boxer'.
