Widely regarded as the band's return to their gritty blues-rock roots following their polarizing psychedelic era, 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' is propelled by one of rock's most recognizable guitar riffs. Keith Richards famously recorded the acoustic guitar riff on a portable cassette recorder, deliberately overloading the microphone to create a distorted, electric-sounding tone. The lyrics were allegedly inspired by the heavy footsteps of Richards' gardener, Jack Dyer.
