Bigmouth Strikes Again / Money Changes Everything
by The Smiths
Driven by Johnny Marr's frantic, aggressive acoustic guitar strumming inspired by the Rolling Stones' 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', this track features some of Morrissey's most famously sardonic, self-deprecating lyrics referencing Joan of Arc. The high-pitched backing vocals were originally recorded by Kirsty MacColl, but Morrissey ultimately replaced them with his own pitch-shifted voice, cheekily credited to the pseudonym 'Ann Coates' (a reference to Ancoats in Manchester).
