Leading the 2000s New York rock revival, this track was produced by Gordon Raphael to sound aggressively compressed and artificially precise. Fabrizio Moretti's drumming was heavily processed to mimic a drum machine, perfectly complimenting Albert Hammond Jr. and Nick Valensi's interlocking, highly structured guitar lines. Julian Casablancas' vocal delivery, filtered through a small practice amp, captured a distinctly apathetic, urban cool.
