Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tool's third studio album extends the band's progressive metal through shifting meters, polyrhythmic drumming from Danny Carey and long-form structures that alternate extended pieces with short interludes. The title track orders its vocal syllables along the Fibonacci sequence, a compositional device that mirrors the record's preoccupation with pattern and transcendence.
