One

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging from a period of intense internal friction during the 'Achtung Baby' recording sessions in Berlin, 'One' essentially saved the band from breaking up. The Edge's delayed, mournful guitar progression perfectly complements Bono's lyrics regarding unity and mutual reliance in the face of suffering. The song was later utilized heavily to raise awareness and funds for AIDS research, solidifying its status as a timeless, humanitarian anthem.
