My Name Is Jonas

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the bombastic opening track to their seminal debut album, the song begins with a delicate, finger-picked acoustic guitar before violently transitioning into heavy, distorted power pop. The cryptic lyrics were inspired by the real-life struggles of Rivers Cuomo's brother following a car accident and subsequent insurance issues. It stands as a perfect encapsulation of the band's signature blend of heavy alternative rock aesthetics and infectious, Beach Boys-inspired melodies.
