Album Notes & Community Reviews

Built upon a haunting, melancholy piano loop sampled from The Charmels, this track defined the gritty, cinematic boom-bap aesthetic of Staten Island. Raekwon and Inspectah Deck deliver stark, street-level narratives detailing the harsh realities of poverty and survival in the crack era. The title acronym—'Cash Rules Everything Around Me'—permanently embedded itself into the global hip-hop lexicon.
