Lyrics for The Optimism Blues
Time has changed so many things By running out of this and too much of that And time has claimed so many things By getting rid of some and fixing others And I'm prepared to accept Whatever fate will turn up Because I believe that there's A very good reason for everything happening I've got those optimism blues And it's about to knock me off my shoes Haven't seen such a grin since Lord knows when, when I've got those optimism blues I've got those optimism blues And it's about to knock me off my shoes Haven't worn such a grin since Lord knows when, when I've got those optimism blues Time has changed so many things The West's dipping in as the East fusses And time has changed so many things We took all the signs off the southern buses And flowers still grow like before A few souls lost but you can't keep a good man down Down by the river People getting saved by the dozen I've got those optimism blues And it's about to knock me off my shoes Haven't seen such a grin since Lord knows when, when I've got those optimism blues I've got those optimism blues And it's about to knock me off my shoes
