Lyrics for Brought with the Rain

Broad were the Rhine and river flood Where the bridge once stood and once run with blood There came a man whose name was Life And he took the Earth to be his wife He cried for a son of fiery rage He searched the heavens, he searched the sea Till a son was born whose name was Death And he charmed the sun which brought him west Now the sun and moon soon grew quite pale The wind could not blow, the ship no sail And Time grew tired of waiting long He hummed a tune and a mournful song And Death, he loved the glass and steel He loved the sure things that he could feel He loved the bright shine of beaten gold But the breath of Life he couldn't hold
