Lyrics for Texas Fever

If you should change your mind Please leave the key beneath the mat And as for me I'm stepping Out with these walls to a land that enthralls A land where a man can realize his dreams I took my place in a fast moving queue Walked up the gangplank and winked at the crew And now I'm bound for pastures new Texas, down in Texas Now I'm reelin' in the drunken sun I jumped on the back of a Cadillac I said, I guess I'm a lucky son of a gun You write occasionally in such a perfunctory style Despite myself I always Smile while remembering our glorious past I guess we both knew it was too good to last I once wrote a song though the words didn't scan You still insisted that you were a fan But you were so much younger then Texas, down in Texas Now I'm reelin' in the drunken sun I jumped on the back of a Cadillac I said, I guess I'm a lucky son of a gun Texas, down in Texas Now I'm reelin' in the drunken sun I jumped on the back of a Cadillac I said, I guess I'm a lucky son of a gun
