That Ol' Track

Lyrics for That Ol' Track

Looking out on old familiar land Wheels roll on through pasture turned to sand It's where my heart lies wherever I may roam Mother Nature has turned my horse to home Daddy's farm had suffered in the dry Bank foreclosed, three hundred cattle died That ol' track takes me back again Leads me back to my family and my friends Never did like the city folks anyway Cousin Betty and Round-'em-up Ron Deejay Call me up to see what money I could raise So I decided I should lend a hand So I came home to play here with my band That ol' track takes me back again Leads me back to my family and my friends Never did like the city folks anyway All the townsfolk are gathered in the square Good country people have come from everywhere My dear old Daddy a tear was in his eye Son's good fortune helped to break the dry As I played something made me catch my breath My childhood sweetheart I never could forget Lindy-Lou I sang my songs for you Said that I'd be back to promise you I do Should have known that I was gonna keep my word Yeh That ol' track takes me back again Leads me back to my family and my friends Never did like the city folks anyway Yeehoo
