The Sound Of Drums

Lyrics for The Sound Of Drums

Underneath that pretty shroud You're too distressed to speak Weighed down by the sad events That some call Holy Week Put your ear to the breeze, my friend Take heed of the ebb and flow We'll sing your spirit back to life With the songs of Ivanhoe (ho-ho-ho) It's good to see my old friends Man, it's been so long Now that we're together We're gonna sing you a song Let these steel strings Take you home to me And let yourself be soothed by The sound of drums Climb down the stairs and out the door 'Til your feet are on the earth You'll find us in the meadowland For better or for worse We brought the pipes and the mandolin We beat the old bodhrán So close your eyes and drift with us On the mists of Avalon (ho-ho-ho) It's good to see my old friends Man, it's been so long Now that we're together We're gonna sing you a song Let these steel strings Take you home to me And let yourself be soothed by The sound of drums Air I am Fire I am Water, Earth, and Spirit I am It's good to see my old friends Man, it's been so long Now that we're together We're gonna sing you a song Let these steel strings Take you home to me And let yourself be soothed by The sound of drums Back to the river, back to the sea Back to the ocean, one with thee Back through my blood, and back through my veins Back to the heartbeat, one and the same
