Recorded under a cloud of severe substance abuse and internal band friction in an abandoned convent, 'Draw the Line' captures a chaotic, ragged energy. While lacking the polished focus of their preceding breakthrough records, the album leans heavily into sleazy, abrasive blues-rock and frantic performances. The fractured recording process signaled the beginning of a dark, turbulent period for the Boston quintet that would nearly destroy the group.
