Masterminded by dub pioneer Adrian Sherwood, this third studio release aggressively pushes traditional Jamaican rhythms into a dense, heavily industrialized soundscape. 'Drastic Season' utilizes violently manipulated tape delays, metallic clatter, and immense, subterranean basslines provided by a rotating cast of virtuoso session players. The intensely psychedelic, chaotic production firmly established the project at the vanguard of the highly experimental On-U Sound label roster.
