Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping entirely away from the frantic digital hardcore of Atari Teenage Riot, Alec Empire records a profoundly chilling, highly minimalist electronic album utilizing only a portable setup during an Icelandic tour. 'Low on Ice' beautifully captures the desolate, freezing environment of its creation, employing slow, dub-heavy basslines and crackling, deeply atmospheric synthesizer drones. It is widely considered an absolute masterpiece of isolationist dark ambient techno.
