The Nameless Uncarved Block

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Captured in Austria, this intensely focused set finds the British improvisation pioneers pushing their reductionist aesthetic to its absolute limits. Utilizing extended techniques on piano, guitar, and percussion, the trio creates microscopic, barely audible textures that require immense listener patience. It represents a vital evolution of non-idiomatic improvisation, hovering constantly on the edge of total silence.
