Biography
AMM is a British free improvisation group formed in London in 1965 by Keith Rowe, Lou Gare and Eddie Prévost, soon joined by Cornelius Cardew. Pioneers of collective, non-idiomatic improvisation, they recorded 'AMMMusic' (1966) and 'The Crypt' (1968) and influenced generations of experimental musicians. Pianist John Tilbury joined in 1980, and after Rowe's departure the group continued as the duo of Prévost and Tilbury, releasing most of its work on #Matchless Recordings#.
