Album Notes & Community Reviews
Although recorded earlier in the 1960s, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers' 'Roots & Herbs' was issued later as part of Blue Note's release schedule. The album features Wayne Shorter compositions and documents one of the Jazz Messengers' important hard bop lineups in strong compositional form.
