Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded in 1961 but shelved for seven years, this blistering session captures one of the most formidable lineups of the legendary hard bop institution. Featuring Lee Morgan on trumpet and Wayne Shorter on tenor saxophone, the ensemble delivers fiercely complex, driving rhythms propelled endlessly by Blakey's thunderous polyrhythmic drumming.
