Geir Jenssen continues his legendary career in ambient electronic music by heavily manipulating isolated fragments of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14. By slowing down and stretching these classical snippets over glacial, icy synthesizers, he crafts an intensely melancholic, ghostly atmosphere characteristic of the hauntology genre. The resulting record is an elegant, profoundly mournful meditation on classical antiquity and modern electronic decay.
